Hi my name is Adam McBride. Let me introduce you to Go Green driving school.
I started Go Green driving school six years ago after leaving a well known driving school where I had worked for eight years.
I wanted to do things a little differently so I came up with the idea of an environmentally friendlier driving school.
The aim was to be able to teach people to drive in a manner that has less of an impact on the environment and also teach people how to drive in an expert manner.
I even wrote to the prime minister Tony Blair, at the time for advice and funding for my project and to give me some useful contacts, and in all fairness he wrote back congratulating me on my unique idea also giving me advice on who was able to help.
I use a Citroen C3 1.4HDI to teach people to drive in. It is a very comfortable and reliable car and all of the pupils enjoy driving it. It has very low emissions, only 115grams of CO2 per kilometer which makes it a catergory B on the energy guide.
We dont use roof signs that you see on most training schools as this causes drag whilst driving around and then it uses more fuel and damages the environment, and personally I think they look out of date.
We use energy saving tyres also all the paper we use in your driver packs is recycled paper.
We teach eco driving techniques as standard.
Go Green was up and in business in April 2007. We grew as a school very rapidly and soon there were 9 Go Green cars providing lessons.
We dont advertise anymore and just work on pupil referals. How many schools can say that even after going through two recessions? Its a fact I am very proud of.
